This afternoon I ran across this post at Skate Fans. It seems that we're not the only ones who think something wasn't right with that WTT judging.

Scross down to the middle of the page. This poster is a very reliable person, BTW, she's been around the skating scene since well before the 2002 Olympics. She states that Brian did a fully rotated 4T and, in addition, a 3A/2T combos, and a 3F/3T combo; both combo fully rotated. However, Brian only managed to get third in the FS!

In hindsight, I do realize this was only a "cheesefest," but since the ISU created this competition (apparently to drum up interest in the upcoming Olympics and provide an event to allow the skaters to earn some money), I'd say they consider this a credible competition, otherwise why put out the effort and expense to put this on. That being the case the judging, and how it's carried out, does matter and can't be brushed off as insignificant as other posters contend on other message boards.

I don't know what to say more about judges.... I wrote about them million postes and I'm sick of what they are doing... Because of them the figure skating is more frustrating UGHHH

Thanks for posting Mary!!It's just relieving to see that this judge-subject-thought is shared by others,as well,which showes that there's something weird going on,concerning the results of Brian&Chan ,not us being partial!!

Exactly.....and I mean the "overscoring" of Mr.Big M wasnt just the case at WTT but all through the season!!


I hope this wont continue in the Olympic season and those who "show SOMETHING and not just fakesmilling around" get what they deserve :anges: !!

The total prize money awarded is US$1,000,000, which is the highest prize money offered in ISU history. The event was considered a huge success.

If there is so many money to earn in this competition, then it must be a very serious competition where judges should act seriously as well!
