| These were shocking news I really feel sorry for his fans - to quit before OG. But he's right - health is more important, and I'm sure he will take a part in many galas so we'll keep on seeing him on the ice _________________ *Krista* |

| Frankly, I didn't expect it to be true at first... Even though I am not a fan of him, it is still a pity Stephan has to pack in skating because of the injury. _________________ ~Olga~ |

| I didn't see this coming. Nobody did. I'm not a big fan of his but right now I'm very sorry for his fans. Despite the fact that I do not share their feelings, the whole situation makes me think a lot about the way I will feel in a couple years, when Brian will announce his retirement. _________________ ~Rina

When that day arrives, I think we will all be sobbing for days, if not weeks.

| Oh...He was a skater who always added some drama and crazy costumes to the figure skating. He made the rivalry more interesting to watch.
It must be hard for his fans. Announcing retirement when the season begins... I understand his reason though: he suffers from injury which enables him to skate at his fullest potential. and after all he is a twice world champion so he is not satisfied with being out of medal contention: as he said "(..)after winning gold at Worlds twice and silver at the Olympic Games, I aim for nothing less than gold medals.” _________________ ~ Malgosia~ |

| Goodness me!! Suddenly two of the top male skaters retire at the start of this season.
I'm sorry for the 'Ladybugs' - they must be devastated, though I can understand why he is retiring - such an injury makes maintaining his standards impossible.
I wish him a happy future & hope that he will be able to skate in shows for many more years. _________________ ~Sheena~

NOOOwww!! Damn does injuries...
And he's not able to do any exhibitions in the future or... this really s*cks. I mean he was a good skater, not allways the best in his jumps, but still his programmes allways looked good. _________________ ¨°ºManonº°¨ |

NO??? I've understood that he will perform in shows. If he will not be able to skate in any show from now will make me more sad! _________________

| | Adelina, don't worry! I am sure we can see him in shows in the future! Hopefully, but I think it depends on his injury. Btw, I didn't hear that he won't be able to skate anymore. |

| As far as I understand, Stephane intends to take part in shows but needs to recover from his injury first. _________________ ~Sheena~
